Jesus as Lord

What Scripture Teaches About The Lordship of Christ

The Lordship of Christ is a settled issue among Bible Believers. Because He created and owns all things, He is Lord!

His resurrection from the dead reveals Him as Lord.
Romans 1:4 …. “declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord”

Jesus Himself said He was Lord:
John 13:13 “You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.”

Peter called Him Lord:
John 21:15 “Jesus said to Simon Peter,”Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.””

Thomas called Him Lord:
John 20:28 “Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!””

Peter preached Him as Lord:
Acts 2:36 “Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Acts 10:36 “The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)–”

God commands all men to confess Him as Lord to be saved:
Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”

The Spirit gives us life and power to confess Him as Lord.
I Corinthians 12:3 “no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.”

Lordship asserts this simple truth and nothing more: Jesus is Lord!

Those He has chosen before the foundation of the world, made alive by grace alone, saved by faith alone in The Lord Jesus Christ alone are His sheep. And, His sheep know and recognize their True Savior, The Christ of the Bible. He is Lord!

Lordship does not add works to faith. Instead it humbles itself with saving faith in the True Christ of the Bible; The One Who Is Lord!

Christ’s redeemed joyfully own Him today, as The Lord of all Creation. In the Last Day, the rest of the universe will grudgingly acknowledge what His chosen already know and passionately embrace. He is Lord!

Philippians 2:10-11 “at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and….every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
